We removed old wooden guardrails and replaced the entire perimeter with new, maintenance free aluminum extruded trim capable of hold flat spline, which holds in screen far better than round spline. This enabled us to apply a safety screen below the rail to replace the wooded pickets and thereby open up the look of the area significantly.
